Building Lives Around Sound Truth (BLAST)

Building Lives Around Sound Truth (BLAST)

When Sarah Foley, Chaplain at a Public School near Mildura, called me in mid-December about organizing a holiday club in mid-January for disengaged youth, I wondered if we could get everything ready in 5 weeks. Sarah’s passion, her volunteer team’s dedication, and SU Australia admin support made it happen—BLAST was successfully launched!

The principal generously provided school facilities and promoted the program. Registrations poured in over the holidays, and the 4-day event brought smiles, laughs, memories, and fun to local youth.

BLAST, meaning “Building Lives Around Sound Truth,” became the space where each participant heard about “Wild Bill’s” adventures, paralleling their own lives. The story revealed identities, God’s nature, Jesus’ actions, and the essence of new life in God’s grand narrative.

Each day featured team-building games, Australian animal snack-making, team challenges, group singing, and the profound truth about God’s love. We thank God for the success of Wentworth’s first SU Holiday Club.

A parent expressed gratitude, “Huge thanks to Sarah and the team for running the BLAST program. My kids had the best time and haven’t stopped talking about the activities. They’re already asking if they can attend again next year. Thank you for making this holiday program so enjoyable for my children.”
