Bible in one day

Bible in one day

*Nikki’s introduction to an SU camp marked a transformative journey. Initially reserved and shy, she hesitated to engage in small group discussions and exhibited disinterest in TAG sessions. Gradually, Nikki shed her inhibitions throughout the week, revealing a growing curiosity about spirituality. The camp leaders, recognizing her building interest, presented her with a Beginner’s Bible.

In an unexpected turn, Nikki devoured the entire Bible in a single day, showing a huge thirst for spiritual knowledge. Impressed by her eagerness, the leaders gifted her a Big Rescue Bible and Christian pamphlets to nurture her spiritual exploration at home. Nikki became the main girl to pray during our small group times and became more open to hearing and talking about God.

As the camp neared its conclusion, a speaker shared a compelling tale of committing one’s life to God, using the metaphor of a man walking across Niagara Falls with a wheelbarrow, symbolizing entrusting oneself to a higher power. Nikki, captivated by the narrative, made a first-time commitment to follow Jesus. Witnessing this remarkable transformation was awe-inspiring, and Nikki left the camp not only with multiple Bibles and Christian reading material but also with a newfound faith in a God who loves her unconditionally.

Hugely encouraging, awe inspiring indeed! Incredibly grateful for SUWA in every way since our own volunteer experience in 60s.
