Big Week Out is Back!

Big Week Out is Back!

Over 20 years ago Big Week Out (BWO) started under the oversight of Jason Hoet. It was a great vision for youth to participate in acts of service in Jesus’ name in their church’s neighbourhood. BWO grew to have several hubs, all operating with the support of SU.

Covid put a hold on BWO for three years from 2020-2022. This hiatus saw much of the former leadership move on. It seemed BWO was history. Though not a young leader anymore, Jason, working closely with some key leaders, rallied a team and gathered keen teenagers to see BWO relaunched.

A group of almost 100 young people headed out to serve the community of the Aboriginal Berean Church on a sunny winter day. The building and grounds were transformed to a space with fresh utility to continue this excellent ministry and outreach in the north-western suburbs of Adelaide.

The future isn’t certain, but the intent from here is to build BWO back towards a five-day event in 2024 across numerous sites in Adelaide and even SA. If you would like to be involved in 2024 or to find out more, contact us at info@susa.org.au.

Would love to hear more about BWO once dates are locked in for 2024. Thanks.
