There’s something special about the Cheynes Beach Mission in WA

Each summer, a temporary community of believers forms on Cheynes Beach, over 400 km south of the hustle and bustle of Perth.

Mornings are filled with the sound of children singing praises to God, while afternoons are often marked by the chatter of teenagers praying and reading the scriptures together.

There are no flashy lights or big stages. Rather, the love of Christ, alive and at work across picnic tables, shared on hikes and beachside activities, makes the Mission an unforgettable experience.

“It’s that deep Christian love you don’t get anywhere else,” remarked Josh, a longtime team member.

People come from many different denominations, churches and walks of life, yet they’re all united by a desire to share and proclaim the same gospel.

Whether it’s daily Bible studies learning about God’s mercy, or team members vulnerably sharing their testimonies, everything points back to Jesus.

Josh asks for prayer as preparations begin for the next mission season:

“Please pray for next year’s attendance, both for team members and our kids’ program.”

Though far from the city, Cheynes Beach Mission is closest to what matters most.
