The Year-Round Impact of SUPA Summer Fun!

The Year-Round Impact of SUPA Summer Fun!

While the warm weather has faded, the lasting impact of SUPA Summer Fun, the Mannum Scripture Union Family Mission (SUFM), remains.

Unlike other summer programs that typically cater to holidaymakers, SUPA Summer Fun is all about building connections with local Mannum families and children.

The best part? The mission’s influence doesn’t end when summer does.

Laura, the SUFM coordinator, describes how these connections are kept alive throughout the year:

“We send a letter to the children once a term with a little activity and thought to encourage them to continue to think about God.”

But the mission’s efforts go beyond letters. At least one team member attends a Friday night SUPA club once a term to maintain those crucial, in-person connections.

“The SUPA clubs are a main connection point for us. There are quite a few kids who regularly attend so we have a good relationship there.”

Central to sustaining SUPA Summer Fun’s year-round impact is the involvement of the local church.

SUPA clubs, held at the church immediately after school, provide children with a shared afternoon tea, Bible teaching, a craft and games – helping to reinforce the mission’s message and strengthen community ties.

Looking ahead, Laura and the SUPA Summer Fun team would greatly appreciate prayer for the growth of ongoing, positive relationships with local churches, schools and community.

“Our hope is to introduce the children, young people and families of Mannum to Jesus,” Laura smiled.

SUPA Summer Fun isn’t just a seasonal event; it’s a year-round mission dedicated to seeing more people discover life in God’s big story.
