Strong Start for SUPA Clubs in ACT
Children and young people discover their place in God’s family.
With three SUPA groups running in Term 1 in Canberra, and three more to launch in Term 2– including a brand new highschool group – we are happy to report that SUPA lunch clubs are going strong in the ACT in 2024!
Thanks to your prayers and support children and young people are able to explore God’s big story in creative and fun ways like craft and games.
“It’s a really valuable space,” says School’s Ministry Coordinator Sophie.
“Kids get to have fun, build relationships with safe adults, build developmentally and build bridges with the community,” says Sophie.
As kids learn about Jesus, they are making their own discoveries and connections, including their position in God’s family.
“Jesus is God’s son, and Jesus is our brother, so we are siblings with Jesus,” one young SUPA club member commented one lunchtime.
The links with the community are invaluable, with volunteers coming from a variety of denominations.
It is “good to see them working together in that, as well,” reflects Sophie.
One school principal pledged to print off 400 permission slips for families to make their decision about whether or not they can come.
God is also answering prayers for more volunteers to be trained and prepared. With a goal of 50 new volunteers, more growth is on the horizon in the future.
