“Oh no! I forgot to go to church!”

“Oh no! I forgot to go to church!”

by Mel Quilliam

There have been many changes at Araluen Christian College this year, including new staff, and the school extending learning to year 10s and new students. It’s been great to re-engage with many of the same students as previous years as well as getting to know many new students in our ISCF group.

Many of the regulars to our group identify as non-believers and we’ve had some great discussions around the death of Jesus and forgiveness.

It’s been wonderful to see multiple group attenders be linked in with youth groups run at some of our local churches, and being so keen to attend regularly. One of the young people forgot that the group was on until we were finishing up, and when she realised, exclaimed disappointedly to the leaders’, “oh no, I forgot to go to church!”

This year also marks the beginning of an 8 week leadership discipleship programme called Emerge at Araluen, for those 15 years and older who are keen to be involved. We’re thankful for this opportunity to journey together around what it means to be a leader and develop skills in this area.

Thanking God for your continuing ministries in Alice Springs and praying for the youth and families there. Also praying for churches and leaders and partnerships. Thanks for the update!
