Zone 40 is an adventure camp for primary kids in years 3 to 6. Kids will spend three or four days camping, doing adventurous activities and making great friends.
WHERE: Wee Jasper (we travel by bus from Canberra)
WHEN: Camp 1 – Saturday 28th September to Monday 30th September 2024
Camp 2 – Monday 30th September to Thursday 3rd October 2024
Camp 1 is a shorter and intentionally smaller camp. The max number of participants is capped at 24 children.
All participants will be able to sleep in rustic bunk rooms. This camp is ideal for those who would benefit from not being away from home for as long and who would prefer a bit of a quieter camp environment. There will still be lots of fun and adventure!
Camp 2 is longer, 3 nights and 4 days. Most participants will sleep in tents, with only some able to fit in the rustic bunk rooms. The tents are good quality, waterproof and enclosed tents. While still limited capacity, we expect over 40 participants.
For both camps, we have a strict ratio of 1 camp leader to 4 participants and all camp leaders are screened and trained in child safety.
Adventurous activities may include abseiling, bush walking, caving, camp fires and night wide games and more.
The camp is held on a working sheep and goat farm. There are basic bathroom facilities with both flush and pit loos and not showering every day. While this may sound like they are really ‘roughing it’, they are well cared for by an amazing team of volunteer leaders, eat hearty home cooked meals and lots of fun is shared. Expect your kids to come home grubby, exhausted and with lots of stories of adventure to share.
At SU camps we have interactive session about what Christians believe in a fun and non-pressurizing way. Our desire is for the kids to have fun, feel a sense of belonging and make new friends.
When registering children from the same family use the code ‘FAMILY’ for a $20 discount per child.
If you are registering more than 2 children for our camps from the same family more discounts apply. Please email info@suact.org.au for more information (feel free to register first to secure your place and we can apply the discount retrospectively).
If the fees make it difficult for your child to attend, please contact us to discuss camp sponsorship.
