Torrens Scripture Union Primary Age (SUPA) Club is a Christian club run at lunch on Thursdays at school.
SUPA clubs are a safe and welcoming place for all primary-age students to forge friendships, learn about Jesus, and explore Christian beliefs in a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate manner. No Christian belief is required or assumed. There are plenty of opportunities to make new friends and have the occasional treat. SUPA Club runs with the permission of the principal.
Children can only attend if they have a signed permission note from their parent or guardian (i.e., this form!) If you no longer want your child to attend the SUPA Club, please contact the school.
The SUPA Club operates with the principal’s permission and is led by volunteers from local churches. These leaders undergo a rigorous screening process, including the Working with Vulnerable People card, two referees, an interview, ChildSafe training, and ongoing training through Scripture Union Australia (SU). This ensures that your child’s safety is our top priority.
SU oversees the running of the SUPA Club. With over 40 years of experience in ACT schools, SU organizes holiday programs, camps, online programs, and community activities. As a Christian organization, SU brings together a diverse range of Christian churches to work towards a common goal.
The curriculum is available should any parent/carer request more about their children’s learning. SU programs do not focus on controversial issues and work to promote harmony.
If you have any questions about the SUPA Club running at your school, please contact the SU Coordinator, Sophie Valastro, on 0413 125 743 or email schools.act@su.org.au.
