Volunteer Opportunities to be a mentor at Bassendean Primary School
Mentoring is the opportunity for a young person to develop a meaningful relationship with a
supportive, encouraging and caring adult. SU West’s Mentoring program pairs students with
volunteers from the local community, who spend time with the young person on an ongoing basis.
Mentoring gives students invaluable one-to-one time with an adult who can listen to them, have
fun with them, and cheer them on. Having someone to encourage and listen to students can
make a significant impact on their resilience, relationships, confidence and sense of self-
worth.
