Campers find their strength in God

Campers find their strength in God

This year’s Bush n’ Biscuits camp, run in partnership with New Horizons Tasmania, saw four young campers living with a disability overcome their challenges, work as a team, and bask in God’s beautiful creation.

The theme for this year’s adventure was “We all Walk Together”, which each camper took to heart, says camp director Lorna.

“The camaraderie was just amazing between the campers,” she says, and there was also plenty of room for personal growth too.

“Over the course of the weekend, the undisturbed environment provided opportunities for each camper to relax with the team, and personally sense a stillness in the Lord.”

For Lorna, she was profoundly blessed as she watched the interaction between the volunteer leaders and campers, as they grew in confidence throughout the hike.

“We could tangibly feel each member of the group being uplifted by the hand of God. It reminded me of that old hymn that says, ‘let the weak say I am strong because of what the Lord has done in me’,” she says.

Thank you for making it possible for young people like Lilly, Finn, Jarret and Brodie to have opportunities for the Lord to work in their lives through experiences like Bush n’ Biscuits camp. To continue making these ministries possible, visit su.org.au/donate.
