Water Activities Training Day is designed to train SU Volunteers how to safely and efficiently run activities in open water. Training will cover proficiency in identifying weather and water conditions, how to brief groups, how to risk manage and how to properly use and transport water equipment.
The day will begin with developing skills on a standup paddleboard or inflatable raft to Penguin Island which is open water, followed by a brief snorkel. After lunch, there will be ocean kayaking around Seal Island (should the conditions allow). Before lunch, we will go over some theoretical components, and the day will conclude with how to securely load a trailer.
Morning Tea and Lunch will be provided.
