Decades of faith, family and mission
God is using the faithful service of SU Australia’s volunteers to change lives across generations.
Just ask Audrey and Bill Langlands.
Their story stretches back nearly 60 years with a chance meeting at the Augusta beach mission in WA. Since then, Audrey and Bill have spent many years serving with SU and witnessed God at work both on the mission field and within their own family.
Through it all, prayer has remained at the heart of their ministry.
Audrey recalls a time when God miraculously intervened with the weather. Lying in her bunk one night, as tears streamed down her face, she looked up to the sky and was overwhelmed with God’s goodness.
That same goodness laid the foundation for their family, with SU playing a significant role in shaping the faith of their four children.
Now, the next generation is stepping into SU too. Audrey and Bill’s grandchildren are encountering God through SU as campers and leaders. They’re excited to share that one grandchild has even been part of an SU leadership program run in partnership with Fremantle Christian College.
Audrey and Bill are deeply thankful for how God has used their many years of serving with SU to not only reach people of all ages but to leave a lasting impact across generations of their own family.
We thank God for Audrey and Bill and for their long journey of fruitful ministry. We thank God for the continued fruitfulness of SU’s camps, family festivals, schools ministry and other programmes that share the Good News so widely in our communities that need to know that God loves them and can be known.
Lovely to have news of the Langlands’ generations. Our paths crossed for a few years with SIL in Darwin
