What are the WA Chaplaincy Awards?

For the second consecutive year, his Excellency the Honourable Christopher Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia, has recognised the service of chaplains across Western Australia with a ceremony at Government House hosted by YouthCARE.

“The Governor’s Chaplaincy Awards honours and recognises the significant contributions made by chaplains to Western Australia.

“By acknowledging and celebrating their unwavering dedication, these awards also aim to increase awareness and support for organisations and individuals dedicated to compassion, care, and service within our communities.”*

SU Australia school Chaplain Janelle Butler, winner of the Regional Chaplain of the Year Award, stood alongside chaplains from multiple spheres including SportsCARE, YouthCARE, WA Police, a street chaplain and Roebourne Regional Prison.

We can be so thankful to God for the way he allows the work of his servants to spread hope and love in the world! May our chaplains continue to shine his warm light.
