‘Against the Grain’ is a brand new Woodworking and Adventure camp, for anyone in secondary school. If you love the great outdoors & are keen to work with some beautiful Australian timbers with experienced leaders, then this camp is for you!

There will be a variety of wood projects you can choose to undertake, with all the tools and materials provided, and expert guidance from your team leaders every step of the way. You might choose to make a box with dovetail joints, cutting board, coasters, puzzles, or jewellery – just to name a few possibilities.

We will be camping in tents at Dave’s Farm, situated on 130 hectares between Lithgow & Oberon, with over 2 km of absolute riverfrontage along the Fish River. There is a fully equipped wood workshop, and wide open space for outdoor activities such as canoeing, archery, bushcraft, camp cooking, plus board and wide games. Evenings will be around the fire pit with music and stories.

He lives in the Blue Mountains, and has been involved with SU most of his life.
