NT campers explore why we need a Saviour

More than 40 campers and 19 leaders had an awesome time dodging the rain, engaging in fun games and activities, while digging deep into the Easter story at our annual NT Easter Camp.

“The Bible talks this year focused on questions of why Jesus’s sacrifice was needed, why we need a Saviour, and how do we put our trust in Him?” says Camp Director, Ox Roberts.

Each small group participated eagerly in these discussions, which set the tone for what was an incredibly successful camp, despite the constant threat of rain looming over the event.

Activities this year included night games, ‘the masks’, have-a-go show, and plenty of amazing food.

Feedback from campers was once again overwhelmingly positive with everyone not only having a great time, but for many it was an opportunity to grow in their Christian faith as well.

“[Jesus] doesn’t want us to try to ‘be better’ for Him, [I learned that] He will transform our hearts through his strength,” says one camper, while another says they came came away from camp with a heart to “teach people about and disciple them towards Jesus by praying for God to give [me] opportunities and ask the Holy Spirit to work through me.”

For others, camp was an opportunity to experience that sense of belonging that comes from living in Christian community.

“Everyone was so friendly, it truly felt like family,” says one camper.

“I really felt loved,” says another.

A very big thank you to our amazing SU community who helps make these ministries possible. Thank you also to our volunteer leaders and cook, Jan, Suz, Alex and Margot. You are making such a difference in the lives of the campers.
