You equipped Ashley to LEAD

You equipped Ashley to LEAD

As a pastor’s kid, Ashley has seen Christian leadership in action. But at SU, we know there’s more to leadership than just seeing.

Through your support, you are helping provide opportunities for young people to step up, and receive leadership training to impact the next generation through ministries like LEAD camp.

On LEAD, a wonderful group of young people came together to spend the long weekend learning about God and developing their leadership skills. For Ashley, the camp environment helped her see Christian leadership in a new light, and grow in her understanding of God:

“I realised God is with us through it all. He’s not just going to step back and let you stress out, He’s going to guide you through it.”

A week after LEAD, Ashley and her fellow campers put their leadership skills into practice at our SUPA Holiday day camp for primary-aged children.

As junior leaders, Ashley and her team ran games and craft activities. They also lead small groups.

“I’m not the kind of person to speak in front of people; sometimes I get anxious. I really stepped out of my comfort zone doing that by leading one of the craft activities,” says Ashley.

This is why we love programs like LEAD. Young people are trained and supported in their relationship with God and boldly step out of their comfort zone to serve Him.

Your support makes it possible for us to run programs such as LEAD. Thank you for equipping and releasing the next generation for a lifetime of Christian service.
