No hiding from God’s love at SUPA and Beyond

No hiding from God’s love at SUPA and Beyond

Laser tag, scavenger hunts, building mini catapults, playing footy and eating great food were just some of the fun activities campers enjoyed at this year’s SUPA and Beyond at Paper Beach, Launceston.

Building on from SUPA Camp for children in Grades 4-6, SUPA & Beyond is for young people in years 7-8, and aims to inspire creativity, initiative, fun and confidence, while helping campers grow in their relationship with the Lord, says team member, Charlie.

A highlight for me this year was the team scavenger hunt. We were divided into two teams, with one team having a head start. Our team went first and had to leave clues, while we hid in a bush waiting for the others to find us,”
Charlie says.

“The funniest part of the hunt was near the end, we made a makeshift sign saying, ‘wrong way, turn back’ to prevent the second team from accidentally going too far. It took ages for them to find us.”

Amongst the fun and stifled laughs, there was an important lesson for the young campers – and for Charlie too!

As we waited in the bushes to be found, I was reminded that we can never run and hide from God’s love. In fact, nothing can ever separate us from it, as it says in Romans 8:38-39,” Charlie says.
