Equipped to serve

Equipped to serve

We live in a time of rising mental health issues among young people who face a tidal wave of information, influences and pressures.

You’re helping to meet their needs by showing them the love and compassion of Jesus through your support for schools ministry.

You are also ensuring that chaplains and SRE teachers are receiving ongoing professional development to equip them to meet the social, emotional and spiritual needs of young Australians.

Earlier this year, more than 700 Generate and SU Australia chaplains and SRE teachers took part in four days of training and community-building at our first ever Schools Ministry Conference on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Electives and workshops included training opportunities in cross-cultural ministry, supporting at-risk young people and communities in crisis, and more.

The opening keynote speaker, Grant Paulson, shared from Micah 6:8 – “To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

He spoke from his perspective as a First Nations Christian, giving insights into how we can better connect with our First Nations culture through the work we do at Generate and SU Australia.

The feedback from school chaplains and SRE teachers alike was that the week helped them “refocus” on why they do what they do in their schools, and inspired them for what was ahead.

Thank you so much for partnering with us to equip Christian workers to serve in our communities.
